You can order your internet connection from your service provider, and simply plug your modem router into your existing wall socket (if available).
If you require anything in addition to this, such as relocating or repairing your wall socket, cabling, or modem router, improved wifi, data cabling or anything else, you will need a technician.
Fixed line internet connections (such as nbn) have a cable (lead-in cable) entering your property from the street. The cable connects to a socket in your house, where you connect your modem router.
The modem router then connects to your service provider and you have working internet.
Wireless internet connections connect via a SIM card in the modem router, or an antenna on your roof.
